You are a great communicator; group facilitation and presentations are your passion! You will be assisting your Local Chapter in reaching out to your community to raise awareness and encourage involvement. Outreach may include local shelters/shelter agencies, businesses & corporations, schools, colleges & universities and service clubs. You may also help to facilitate Shoebox Drives with these groups.
Small communities may have one volunteer doing all of their outreach (Community Outreach Coordinator), while larger communities may have a few volunteers focusing on specific groups as shown in the separate roles below.
Reach out to form new and retain existing relationships with local shelter/agency contacts and lead in the communication with chapter team on Shoebox goals and delivery deadlines.
Help secure corporate and business involvement; through sponsorship, Shoebox drives, in-kind donations or volunteer involvement and for larger chapters lead corporate ambassador team in coordinating corporate events.
Reach out to and form relationships with local primary, secondary & post-secondary schools/clubs to spread awareness and gain interest and support for your chapter goals. Help facilitate school Shoebox drives, item donation collection and notecard writing and for larger chapters lead school ambassador team in coordinating these school events.
Working closely with your local coordinator, implement outreach opportunities for corporate/ school/ sponsorship/ community groups and individuals to raise awareness and get them involved in Shoebox Project initiatives.
